ABOUT ALL THAT SASS

Step into the spotlight with ALL THAT SASS: a Musical Theatre Heels workshop led by Drew. Dive into the art of character building, storytelling, and how to tackle auditions in the world of musical theatre! Whether you're a seasoned musical theatre enthusiast or eager to explore diverse dance styles, this workshop is tailored just for you.

Our workshop begins with a friendly check-in and invigorating warm-up, setting the stage for an immersive experience. Next, we’ll dive into jazz tech and across the floor exercises, priming you to learn a dynamic musical theatre combo. Then, Drew will teach you choreography for the stage, including what to expect when learning in a professional rehearsal environment.

Using that combo, you’ll learn the art of blocking all while discovering how to shine amidst other auditionees. Drew will teach you how to make bold and impactful choices on the spot to stand out, enriching your character development through compelling storytelling techniques.

Drew is a graduate of the Randolph college for the performing arts in Toronto and works regularly as a musical theatre performer. His recent professional credits include Kinky Boots, Beautiful: the Carole King Musical, and Elf: the Musical (all Arts Club Theatre Company).

If you’re ready to embrace your inner musical theatre kid and learn something new, come out on Sat, Apr 27 from 7-9PM. Space is limited, so BOOK NOW!

NURTURE: Body Care Workshop by Brie

When: Sat, May 25 from 5-7PM

Where: Glow Studios Vancouver - 1026 Davie St, Suite 400, Buzzer 200

Level: Open Level

Price: $40

Note: It is not necessary to take NURTURE Part I to participate in Part II. This workshop will cover different parts of our anatomy.

ABOUT NURTURE

Welcome to NURTURE PART II: the sequel to Brie’s workshop series that explores the relationship between your body and dance. Empower yourself to discover the potential of your body while nurturing the dancer within.

NURTURE will take you through a comprehensive anatomy breakdown of the shoulder, arm, pelvis, and leg. Discover how these areas function and interact, improving your understanding of their role in the context of movement and your body’s well-being. Paired with mobility and strengthening exercises, you’ll learn injury prevention skills to keep you dancing for as long as possible!

Following each breakdown, Brie will guide you through her specialty: self-massage techniques and fascial stretching. These practices help release tension stored throughout your body, promoting flexibility, relief, and circulation. They’ll help you improve muscle mobility, build tissue durability and recover from dance sessions with less soreness.

Brie has an impressive 14 years of experience working as an RMT and can’t wait to share the tips and tricks she’s gathered along the way! Depending on what participants are looking for, she’s able to adjust her lesson plan and accommodate for the class.

We hope you’ll walk away from our holistic workshop with a deeper connection to your body and ways to NURTURE it in and out of the studio! Don't miss this opportunity on SAT, MAY 25 from 5-7PM and register today!
